CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE AND FUMIGATION CONFERENCE

Nordiko was invited to attend this international conference, which occurs every four years. A presentation was made on Methyl Bromide Recovery, which prompted considerable debate on recapture as an interim measure, until an effective replacement for MB in many applications can be determined.

Eminent scientists, quarantine specialists and industry professionals from China and many other countries attended and reviewed all aspects of fumigation, gases and practices. Resistance to Phosphine gas by certain insect species appears to be of growing concern.

A broad-ranging, safe alternative to methyl bromide seems still to be many, many years away, meaning that recapture can produce real environmental and safety benefits.
